Some fabrics have been part of our lives for as long as we can remember, and have so much more to offer than we might think. Warm, textured, full of character and with a rich history behind it — that’s corduroy. That’s why I created this bag pattern as a little tribute to this timeless fabric, using upholstery corduroy: durable, sturdy and perfect for everyday use. But you don’t have to use corduroy! You can choose any hard-wearing fabric, or even quilt a lighter-weight fabric to give it more structure.

• For the winter version, I used 5 mm wide-wale upholstery corduroy and a matching poplin lining.
• For the floral version, I used a fabric by laBlu from colección Red Rocks & Cottonwoods. I quilted the outer fabric with 180 g/m² batting.
• For both summer versions, I used AI to create a canvas-like fabric design.
