At this point, who doesn’t already know what a tote bag is?

By now, we can say that the concept of a tote bag is familiar to everyone, and that we already refer to those fabric bags as a Tote Bag. Also, if you follow me and know a bit about my work, you’ll know that I love them and that from time to time I release a new tote bag pattern. I wanted to put a new twist on this latest pattern by including a series of details that give the Tote London (that’s what we all decided to name this new pattern after the poll I did on Instagram) a different and original look.

And what does the Tote Bag London have that makes it different?

  • It’s a bag that has another one inside, like a pouch.
  • You can let your creativity run wild by combining two different fabrics. Play with colors or textures. Use a stiffer fabric on the outside and a lighter one on the inside.
  • The pouch closes with a drawstring threaded through belt loops.
  • I’m going to show you how to sew the hem in a different way.

What will you learn by sewing this tote bag pattern?

  • You will learn how to sew bias tape.
  • You will learn how to sew bias tape on a corner.
  • You will learn how to finish the ends of bias tape.
  • To sew the hem of your bag in a different way.
  • And many more things that you’ll discover throughout the tutorial.

If you want to learn how to do all this with the same pattern you’ll see in the tutorial, here’s the link so you don’t waste time and can get your new London bag pattern.

Note: The sewing process shown in the video is personal and indicative. This is how I sewed it. There are other processes to reach the same result and here I explain one of them. Include your own solutions or add new details that do not appear in the video. It is possible that you have sewn something similar in some occasion and that you have done some part of the process in a different way. All options are valid. I advise you to try several and then decide which one you find most comfortable to sew.
