I tell you more things
As you already know, I like to investigate the origin or meaning of garments and I read that on many occasions there are many garments that come from men's clothing and that on many occasions have been used in the military area and later adapted to women's wardrobes. Surely in those distant times when women lived stuck in a corset and impossible dresses, those ahead of their time saw the advantages that men enjoyed in terms of comfort in clothing and adapted many garments for them and thanks We currently enjoy them. A hooray! for all of them.
In the case of culotte panties it has also been like this. It was a mainly male garment used by gentlemen and soldiers and they were knee-length and have been transformed into what we currently know as cycling shorts or culottes or petit culottes, shorts-type women's panties.
The word culotte comes from French and I like it that way because the translation into Spanish would be panties and I personally believe and I'm sure many of you think the same that it is more chic in French ;).
Not only can you use the shorts when you go out as underwear, at home we use them as pajamas combining them with one of the five basic t-shirts or with any of the garments from Making patterns fly.
